“ This place was SO GOOD! I am a quesadilla fanatic, it is my favorite thing to order at mexican restaurants. This quesadilla rellena with grilled chicken was the best I've ever had. Even the next day the leftovers were delicious. (Air fried!) the guacamole was super creamy and lacked raw onions which I absolutely prefer. The rice and beans were your typical ones but so good. I could go without a margarita again, it pretty much tasted like syrup. They had a big drink selection other than margaritas. But I will be coming back for the food!! ”

“ My disclaimer is always that I am a major foodie with a culinary background. Saying that please read the review. I will say that in my 20 years in Nashville this is the best Mexican restaurant I have been to here. The menu is huge, so huge I had a hard time deciding. Ultimately I went old school basic as I was terribly hungry. That didn't matter. I had the tacos asada my wife the Sopa de pollo. The tacos had so much meat in them that you couldn't close the tortilla. The rojo sauce for them was very unique in a good way. They also have one of my favorites, cream cheese stuffed bacon wrapped deep fried jalapeños. The bar menu is extensive. I had the house margarita and it was a good one but pay the extra couple dollars for the Garcia Margarita. It was off the chain. ”

“ Garcia's is a new-ish Mexican restaurant in the Gallatin area but there are a few things that sets it apart from other of the many Mexican restaurants in the area. First off it's a sports bar. While I've not had the opportunity to watch any games there, it's a good feature. Too many times have my options to watch sports while dining out consisted to going to traditional American restaurant sports bars. You can only eat sandwiches, burgers, wings, & pizza so many times during the sports seasons. Second, it's a Taqueria (meaning they have a decent variety of street-style tacos). I have nothing against restaurant tacos but restaurant tacos are very different than street tacos. I never get Mexican restaurant tacos because they are bland and have little variety in terms of filling. Your options of taco fillings consist of al pastor (my favorite), lengua (beef tongue), chorizo, pollo (chicken) , asada (steak), carnitas (pork), shredded beef, fish, & shrimp. Supposedly you can even get tripe but it's not on the menu. What did I get? A carnitas dinner, a single al pastor taco, and a chile relleno. When it comes to Mexican, I will only eat 2 dinners (OK 3) and it's a part of my rotation: carne asada, carnitas, or fajitas. Carnitas is essentially slow-cooked pork (sometimes marinated) served with traditional Mexican restaurant spread of tortillas, rice, refried beans, lettuce, pico de gallo, and a pickled jalapeño. At Garcia's, they give you an option of flour or corn tortillas. I liked the carnitas very much. It was tender, had the right amount of pork fat greasiness to not be too rich, and wasn't at all dry. One of the better carnitas I've had of recent memory. The al pastor taco was decent. Not the best I've had but it was still good. The al pastor I enjoy has a strong pineapple flavor. The pineapple here was very subtle. Nevertheless it was very good and I liked how the tortilla was crispy. The chile relleno, as chile rellenos go, was a little lacking. Visually, it looked good but it wasn't served on a bed of red salsa like I'm used to. The batter was fried to a nice golden brown but it didn't have as much cheese as I would have liked (or the cheese melted and floated away). Flavor-wise though, it was good. Just wished it had more copious amounts of flowing, gooey cheese come out of it. Overall Garcia's is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. I look forward to going when football starts up. One tip, it's hard to find. If you try to search it on your maps app, another Garcia's will pop up going to Water Avenue or something. Note that is not it. It's the one next to the Opus emissions testing center. I had no clue there were strip mall businesses back there. If you pass Lowe's (on your right), you went too far. ”
